What's a Real Foodie to do when the dreaded PMS craving strikes? Especially on a Saturday, when the pickings are rather slim. Well, first thing you do is thank your lucky stars that your husband has bought an extra organic banana that week. Then, you send him off to the store to pick up a pint of heavy cream because, face it, anything you want is going to involve heavy cream.
Then, make pancakes (soaked, whole grain, of course). Pancakes are good. Especially with some butter. But... maybe butter's not enough.
Right, chocolate. These are PMS pancakes, after all. Make it organic, dark, and try to get the stuff without soy lecithin, m'kay?
I put bananas on next, because dark chocolate isn't very sweet and when I'm PMSing, my body screams for sugar. SUGAR!
Then, cream. Whipped. Not sweetened, but good cream tastes sweet all on it's own. Here's a shoutout to Trickling Springs Creamery, whom I adore. I added more chocolate because I thought it looked unfinished. Wait... it's still missing something...
Bacon! From a local farmer who is evangelical about the necessity of raising animals on pasture. Yum. Now, I have to get back to watching episode of The Tudors and attacking my husband with wild mood swings.

Wow- will you be my best friend? Chocolate and attacking my husband are two of my favorite things! :-)
Is that butter perchance from Trickling Springs? It has a very familiar deep yellow... (I came over from TSC's Facebook update). Those pancakes look phenomenal!
And on the chocolate note- I've found a soy free chocolate at my local natural food store- Theo brand. Their dark chocolate is excellent and not at all bitter. You just have to watch it with their flavored chocolates- they use a heavy hand.
Yes, the butter is Trickling Springs. As is the cream. And any milk I use. My store doesn't carry their yogurt, but I also eat their raw cheese.
Love it! Soaked grain pancakes with chocolate, bacon and whipped cream!? YES!
I also forgot to mention my mad love for Tudors. :-)
My normal milk is raw milk that I can get at the same farmer's market, but since hubs won't touch raw, I'm getting him Trickling Springs. It's really fantastic milk! And butter.
I haven't seen their cheese or yogurt, but I'll have to check again Saturday. I did get some of their ice cream, but it seems to be only special weekends that they have that. It is amazing, though.
